How we work

We operate a four-stage model: learn, try, share, engage.

A four stage model: Try, Share, Engage and Learn

LEARN

We’re finding out what’s worked for others, based on case studies and interviews. We've been digging into the literature in fields like urban studies, anthropology, sociology, economics and experience design.

TRY

When we see a good idea, we ‘playtest’ it ourselves. This approach - learning by doing - helps reveal the practicalities, before we document it as a pattern in our library.

SHARE

We want to share what we’re learning (for free), and get feedback. We use Medium, LinkedIn, conferences and
1:1 consultations to get the message out.

ENGAGE

We aim to engage a diverse, distributed set of collaborators, both to enrich what the Together By Design project is learning, and to find new applications where it could make a difference.
