What we’re learning
Our practical goal is to produce a toolkit for community makers - a pattern library and design principles - and share them widely and for free.

Need pointers on how to create healthy community? Our design principles encapsulate guidance and lessons learned from dozens of case studies, books and references, as well as our own practical experiments.
Working in the open
Together By Design is a multi-year project that’s still at an early stage. We believe in working transparently: as we develop resources, we’ll share them here as beta versions to invite feedback.
Both the pattern library and design principles are constantly-evolving resources that will grow as we learn more. Our outputs are free to use under Creative Commons licence CC BY-NC 4.0.
